Deontay Wilder wins comeback with a first-round KO over Helenius

Former heavyweight world champion Deontay Wilder made a successful ring return with a highlight-reel first-round knockout over Robert Helenius this Sunday (PH time) at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The hard-hitting Wilder, coming off back-to-back stoppage defeats at the hands of Tyson Fury, caught Helenius coming in and only needed one perfectly timed right hand to end the contest at the 2:52 mark of the opening round.

The win was Wilder’s first since 2019 as he improved his record to 43-2-1 with 42 knockouts while Helenius dropped to 31-4 with 20 knockouts.
