Team Ancajas unbothered by postponement of world title fight
Team Ancajas is unfazed by the postponement of Jerwin Ancajas' upcoming world title showdown with WBA world bantamweight titleholder Takuma Inoue.
Ancajas and Inoue were supposed to lock horns this Wednesday, November 15, in Japan. Inoue, however, suffered an injury in training which forced the showrunners to move the event to a yet-to-be-determined date.
According to Ancajas' trainer and manager Joven Jimenez, the postponement is not detrimental to their preparation but rather gives them more time to study their upcoming fight.
"This is actually good for us," Jimenez quipped.
"A postponement is not new to us. It happens. We are just focused on training and we will adjust our volume and intensity accordingly since there is no date yet."
Ancajas, 34-3-2 with 23 knockouts, currently holds his training camp in the US with Jimenez. He last saw action against Wilner Soto this past June where he won via technical knockout.
