Pacquio's weight leaps to 145 lbs a day after weigh-in

Filipino World Boxing Council super featherweight champ Manny Pacquiao's weight increased to 145 pounds on Sunday (Philippine time), a day after he made weight at 134½ pounds for his title match with Mexican-American David Diaz, the current WBC lightweight champ, at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. This was according to Pacquio's trainer Buboy Fernandez who told radio dzBB on Sunday that he advised Pacquio (46-3-2, 34 KOs) to be confident of his power to defeat Diaz (34-1-1, 17 KOs), and claim the crown for a fourth title. Fernandez said Pacquiao would have a "scientific and intelligent fight" with Diaz. He said the Filipino boxing champ should not attack his opponent head on, but move with calculated steps. - GMANews.TV
