David Diaz awed by Pacquiao's lethal speed

Mexican-American David Diaz felt like he was hit hard by a whirlwind. Filipino boxing champ Manny Pacquiao was so "f***in' fast," according to Diaz that he was not able to stop his punches, until he succumbed to the lethal speed of his foe in the ninth round of their bout in Las Vegas, Nevada. On Sunday (Philippine time), after their "Lethal Combination" showdown at the Mandalay Events Center, Diaz praised Pacquiao as a "great fighter, more than what I expected." In an interview aired over radio dzBB, Diaz described how he was battered by a whirlwind-like opponent. "I couldn't stop his punches...his speed was what made me off...He's so f***in' fast, man...I soon got a little tired at the end...He was that fast, what the f**k, what the heck... it just happened." Diaz said he needed to rest after the painful fight, with his trainer adding that, "The next time, we'll get somebody a little slow." Pacquiao, who is now the World Boxing Council's lightweight champ, made his best performance, making his title bout with Diaz, not just a fight but an "execution," according to sports analyst Ronnie Nathanielsz. Nathanielsz in an interview with radio dzBB on Sunday said Pacquiao "fought like he never fought before," adding that his skill level in fighting improved tremendously, turning him "into a gem." Pacman's stamina was also praised by Nathanielsz, saying the champ had turned into a "complete fighter" when he sustained his prowess from the first to the ninth round. Even Pacquiao's trainers, according to a radio report, were awed by his speed, which did not change, but had in fact improved even after he put on some weight to qualify as a lightweight fighter. - GMANews.TV
