Police haven’t retrieved possible evidence to FEU shooting

MANILA, Philippines – The security division of the PhilTrust Bank has not handed over a vital piece of evidence that will shed light in the shooting of a Far Eastern University basketball player last week. Senior Police Office 3 Richard Lumbad said the bank has yet to surrender the tape that could have caught images of the shooting via closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera. Marnel Baracael of the FEU seniors’ basketball team was shot at the corner of R. Papa and Morayta streets where the bank was situated. Lumbad said Robert Mendoza, a security official of the PhilTrust Bank, refused to hand over the tape. “I talked to [the bank security] on Monday and they said that they would give me [a copy of the tape]," Lumbad said. “When I went there to get the video, they said no technicians were available to furnish the tape," Lumbad added. On Tuesday, Manila Mayor Alfredo Lim ordered the Manila Police District to probe the shooting. – GMANews.TV
