FEU varsity players, officials to be summoned by MPD

MANILA, Philippines – Police will summon key members of the Far Eastern University varsity team to view the surveillance video that may have recorded images related to the shooting of FEU basketball player Marnel Baracael. Basketball players Robert Kave and Ron Cabagnot will be called on by the Manila Police District to its headquarters Friday to identify the possible suspects. In the video recorded through a closed-circuit television camera, the police pointed to three men standing by the entrance of the PhilTrust Bank near where Baracael was shot. “Ang tendency ng tao kapag may krimen, lalayo ka. Pero ang analysis ko nag-observe pa sila," Chief Inspector Dominador Arevalo, head of the MPD homicide division, said in an interview on 24 Oras Thursday. The MPD will also summon FEU coach Glen Capacio and university athletic director Anton Montinola to help shed light on the incident. Arevalo said the investigation will zero in on the basketball-related angle. “Walang ibang pwedeng dahilan. Hindi pwedeng away. Hindi pwedeng sa babae. Kaya medyo titingnan naten dito ay yung side ng trabaho ni [Baracael] bilang player," Arevalo said. – GMANews.TV
