Australia's Ginn, Free win men's pair gold in rowing
BEIXIAOYING TOWN, China â Drew Ginn and Duncan Free of Australia have won the gold medal in men's pair rowing Saturday, using their outstanding technical precision to win by more than 2 seconds. Ginn and Free pumped their fists in the air and splashed water after they crossed the finish line in 6 minutes, 37.44 seconds. David Calder and Scott Frandsen brought Canada its first medal of the Olympics with the silver. They finished in 6:39.55 and put an end to the country's surprising medal drought. New Zealand's Nathan Twaddle and George Bridgewater were the bronze medalists, crossing the line in 6:44.19. Ginn won gold in Athens in the pair and has since become a world champion after pairing up with Free. â AP
