Former Olympic high jump champion Holm wins finale
KARLSTAD, Sweden â Former Olympic champion Stefan Holm ended his illustrious high jump career by winning a hometown competition Saturday in a small arena where he started out. Holm, who won the 2004 Athens Games, cleared 2.25 meters. "This was special, very emotional," Holm said. "I had not seen some of the guys since my school days." The 32-year-old Holm was fourth in the Beijing Olympics at 2.32. He ended his international career by finishing second in the World Athletics Final in Germany a week ago. â AP
