PWC upsets Ateneo de Davao in volleyball
DAVAO CITY, Philippines - The Philippine Women's College (PWC) spikers upset highly touted Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) in the men's semifinals of the Davao Association of Colleges and Schools (DACS) College Volleyball Tournament at the PWC Gym on Sunday. PWC, coached by Lorenzo Porras, survived a 28-26, 25-27, 25-10, 29-27 thriller against the Ateneans. Unheralded Cor Jesu College (CJC) of Digos City, meanwhile, also scored a major upset by beating AdDU, 25-22, 25-22, 25-23, in the women's event. The CJC volleybelles will try to push their luck when they meet HCDC in the finals. The Exequiel Tomines-coached HCDC women's squad spanked San Pedro College, 25-8, 21-25, 25-8, 25-20 in the other semis match. The semis losers will play for third place on Sunday at PWC Gym along with the winners who will battle for the titles.
