(UAAP Update - End of 2nd) Ateneo 41, La Salle 26
MANILA, Philippines - Chris Tiu scored 13 points, including seven straight in the second quarter, to give Ateneo a 41-26 lead over La Salle at halftime in Game Two of the UAAP finals Thursday. Tiu's two free throws, a three-pointer, and a runner helped the Eagles extend a 20-17 lead to a 27-17 bubble at the 7:53 mark of the second quarter, the first time the lead breached the 10-point barrier. Tiu, in his final year in an Eagles uniform, scored only two points in Game One. Relief forward Jobe Nkemakolam's two points at the post with 15 seconds left in the first half gave the Eagles a 41-26 lead, the half's biggest margin. Ateneo led big despite early foul trouble on UAAP MVP Rabeh al-Hussaini who was forced to sit on the bench at the 7:45 mark of the first quarter. - GMANews.TV
