RP girls wallop Singapore for 3rd win in U18 hoops tilt

MANILA, Phlippines – Xtreme-RP Team posted their third straight victory with a 68-50 win over Singapore on Wednesday night in the Fiba-Asia Under-18 ladies championship at the Angkas Lanud Hall in Medan, Indonesia. The RP girls moved closer of earning a spot in Level One in the next edition of the biennial Asian junior ladies tournament. However, the Filipinas need to hurdle its biggest challenge in the weeklong meet when they face Kazakhstan on Thursday night. Kazakhstan is also undefeated after two games and was playing against Thailand (2-1) as of posting time. Team captain Kat Sandel, after scoring 25 points against Singapore, urged her teammates to focus on their upcoming matches particularly against Kazakhstan. Raiza Rose Palmera added 18 points to back up Sandel while Agatha Marie Estrero contributed 10 more. – GMANews.TV
