Younger Patrimonio daughter, 2 RP boys reach Phinma-ITF tennis q'finals
MANILA, Philippines - Anna Clarice Patrimonio became the last RP girl standing in the Phinma-International Tennis Federation Juniors Circuit One tournament, after she won over Kriszina Kapitany of Hungary 7-6 (1) ret. on Wednesday at the Rizal Tennis Center. With the victory - aided in part by Kapitany's decision to retire after suffering cramps - Patrimonio, 15, advanced to the quarterfinals. The Patrimonio siblings failed to double up, however, after older sister Christine lost 7-5, 2-6, 6-3 to Alisa Ogorodova of Uzbekistan. In the boys' division, the country sent two representatives to the quarterfinals after top seed Francis Casey Alcantara and wild-card Jeson Patrombon won their respective matches. Alcantara survived Chung Hong of Korea 7-6 (5), 6-2, while Patrombon defeated Du Bai Dong of China 2-6, 6-1, 6-2. In the round of eight, Alcantara takes on Josip Mesin of Croatia. Patrombon next faces Na Jung-Woong of Korea. If the two Filipinos win, they will set up a semifinal clash. - GMANews.TV
