Ginebra, Coke to use familiar imports as PBA reinforcements

MANILA, Philippines – Barangay Ginebra and Coca-Cola are bringing in two familiar faces in the coming Reinforced Conference set February 28. The Gin Kings, the defending champion of the import-laden conference, will parade returning import Rod Nealy. Nealy is expected to arrive on February15. Ginebra coach Jong Uichico confirmed the news after the team failed to get the services of several young players in the National Basketball Developmental League. “The good thing about having a familiar import in Nealy is that we can tap him anytime we want," said Uichico. Like Ginebra, Coca-Cola is bringing in an old hand, former Talk ‘N Text import JJ Sullinger, who will replace James Penny. Penny is still playing in the Latin America League where his team is still in contention for a finals berth. The former Red Bull import, who steered the Barakos to a championship over Purefoods in the 2005-06 season of the same conference will only be arriving late this month, according to Coca-Cola assistant coach Bo Perasol. – GMANews.TV
