Pagunsan-led RP parbusters to see action in Singapore MB Masters

MANILA, Philippines – Juvic Pagunsan and the rest of the Filipino contingent take a rest from the busy Asian Tour schedule and will travel to Singapore to play in the Mercedes-Benz Masters Singapore, the kick off leg of the rising Mercedes-Benz Tour at the Laguna National Golf and Country Club starting on Wednesday. Pagunsan, who took home $7,744.44 at the Singha Thailand Open last Sunday, is expected to fare well in the Mercedes-Benz Tour opening salvo. Joining Pagunsan in the $60,000 event are Asian Tour regulars Frankie Miñoza, Artemio Murakami, Tony Lascuna, Angelo Que and Mars Pucay. Also seeing action is Cassius Casas, who was voted the Most Inspiring Player of the Year of the MB Tour, when he won the B-ing Championship, his first triumph in nearly five years. Among them, though, it is only Que, the winner of the ICTSI Mt. Malarayat Championship leg of the MB Tour, who is the most successful in the fledgling tour as he won the Order of Merit title last year. It was only in the Johnnie Walker Classic that Que, the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) 2008 golf awardee, was booted out. “It’s been so far, so good. 80% success rate is a wonderful number. I’m just hoping to have a breakthrough win somewhere. The Mercedes-Benz Masters looks like a pretty venue to have it," Que said. After the Singapore leg, the MB Tour will have eight more tournaments offering about $430,000 in total prize. – GMANews.TV
