RP bodybuilding championships on Saturday

MANILA, Philippines – Filipino bodybuilders and fitness competitors from more than 500 gyms all over the country will vie the 2009 search for Mr. and Ms. Philippines Bodybuilding Championships on Saturday, April 4, at Onstage Greenbelt 1 in Makati City. Ten weight categories will be up for grabs in the men’s division while it will be an open weight contest in the men’s junior body building class in the one-day tournament organized by the Philippine Federation of Bodybuilders and Fitness (PFBB) and supported in part by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR). Competitors will pose and do their individual routines in the competition, which starts at 5:00 p.m. after the 8:30 a.m. seminar for aspiring judges and will be followed by a practical test during the 3:00 p.m. pre-judging. The seminar will be conducted by International Bodybuilding Federation (IBF) executive assistant to the president Datuk Paul Chua, who is also the IBF vice president for Asia and the Asian Bodybuilding Federation secretary-general and treasurer. Registration for the tournament opens at 1:00 p.m. Aside from the Mr. and MS. Philippines titles, winners will also have the chance to become members of the national training pool and Team Philippines. – GMANews.TV
