Korea’s national badminton team to grace Partners Cup


MANILA, Philippines – Local badminton fanatics will have the chance to see the South Korean national team in the 6th FDG/Partners Cup Invitational Badminton tournament starting on June 6 at the Yonex Badminton courts at the Liberty Center in Mandaluyong City. Part of the team is the mixed doubles tandem of the world No. 2 and Beijing Olympics champions Lee Yong-dae and Lee Hyo-jung. Also joining the 28-player Korean contingent includes members of the team that won the silver medal in the recent Sudirman Cup in Guangzhou, China. The team includes world No.4 women's doubles Lee Kyung-won and Hyo-jung, No. 6 men's doubles Jung Jae-sung and Yong-dae and No. 8 men's singles Park Sung-hwan. In the FDG Cup, which will be held in honor of Robinsons Land president Frederick Go, the Koreans will play exhibition matches versus the country’s top players. A total of 184 players will compete in the Partners Cup which will be participated by Robinsons Land Corp.'s (RLC) and its business partners, including architects, consultants, project managers, contractors and suppliers and friends. – Perry Legaspi, GMANews.TV
