WNCAA basketball: CEU, La Consolacion in 3rd place

Centro Escolar University and La Consolacion College Manila bagged on Saturday the third place in the WNCAA 37th season senior basketball tournament at the St. Scholastica's College gym. Powered by 24 points of Anne Simmerman and Kristina Tolentino's 15, CEU defeated AMA Computer University, 73-54, in the Senior A group. La Consolacion, on the other hand, banked on the combined 35 points of Michelle Malonzo and Joy Amawan in posting a 60-57 win against Emilio Aguinaldo College Manila, in the Senior B group. Juniors: Miriam College beats De La Salle Zobel In junior basketball, Miriam College ended the elimination round with a perfect 8-0 card after trouncing De La Salle Zobel, 55-50, to clinch top spot going into today's Final Four round. Miriam will face the loser of the Chiang Kai Shek College-San Beda College Alabang tussle, still being played as of posting time, while DLSZ squares off with the loser. Miriam and DLSZ need only one win each to arrange a best-of-three finals duel.
