Tigers on the prowl for 12th straight UAAP general title

"Tiger power" is once again on display in the UAAP Season 72 competitions as perennial overall champ University of Santo Tomas leads the race for the general championship at the end of the first half of action. Hunting for their 12th straight general championship and 37th overall, the Tigers took the halfway lead with 153 points in the official tally, highlighting their campaign with conquests in men’s taekwondo, men’s badminton and men’s beach volleyball.

The Blue Eagles banked on their men’s basketball and men’s judo titles while the Tamaraws gained from three crowns, namely men’s table tennis, women’s table tennis and women’s taekwondo. The Fighting Maroons profited from their victories in women’s judo and women’s swimming. At sixth place was University of the East with 78 points spiked by first runner-up finishes in men’s basketball and women’s badminton, followed by Adamson with 54 points behind triumphs in women’s basketball and women’s beach volleyball. National University brought up the rear with 21 points.
