'Bata' Reyes wins RP 9-ball opener

Efren "Bata" Reyes immediately went to work Thursday afternoon and relegated Antonio Lining to the losers bracket with a 9-5 victory at the start of the Philippine 9-ball Open at the Casino Pagcor Theater in Paranaque city. Reyes was visibly inspired as he immediately raced to a 3-0 lead before Lining won the next two racks. But Reyes, with luck on his side, took the next rack with a golden break to up his lead to 4-2. Reyes, who recently won three major titles including the IPT 8-ball championship in Reno, Nevada, went ahead and posted a 6-2 and 8-4 leads before Lining won his last rack on the 13th. - GMANews.TV
