Ascof hopes to turn around 0-2 start in PBL
Carlo Tan believes having an almost all-rookie line-up is the reason why pre-season favorite Ascof Lagundi if off to a 0-2 start in the season-opening 2010 Philippine Basketball League (PBL) PG Flex-Erase Placenta Cup. "The team is still adjusting and is still trying to find a way to get better. Iâm contended with our offense but we really have to get better on defense," said the Cough Bustersâ coach after Ascofâs 88-87 setback against Cossack Vodka on Tuesday. If there is one consolation, itâs the fact that Tan sees an improvement in how Ascof played against Cossack.

Tan is hoping that his views hold true when Ascof clashes with AddMix when PBL action resumes Thursday at The Arena in San Juan City. "I see this team getting better and Iâm hopefull we can get one win soon," added Tan. They will be facing the Leo Austria-coached AddMix team, who is fresh from an 81-70 victory over Fern-C also last Tuesday. AddMix will once again lean on Lizstian Amparadoâs game-long brilliance after he erupted for 19 points in their win against Fern-C. "The players wanted to win and they showed they learned their lessons when we lost to Cobra Energy Drink in our first game. I hope we can keep this level of play for us to win more games," said Austria. Pharex guns for its second win when it takes on Fern-C in the 2 p.m. opener. John Wilson is again expected to carry the load for Fern-C but must get the needed support from his teammates in order to nail the win. â GMANews.TV More Videos
