Sisos shine in Visayas leg of jr satellite tour


The Siso siblings – Sally Mae, Bernardine and Sallydine – rose to prominence in the six-leg Visayas tour of the Smart/HEAD Junior Satellite ranking tournament. Sally Mae showed her dominant form in the Lapu-Lapu City and Cebu City legs of the Philippine Tennis Association (PTA)-sanctioned event when she topped the girls’ Under-18 and -16 divisions. Bernardine made his presence felt in the boys’ Under-18 while Sallydine placed second to sister Sally Mae in both legs. Other kids also had their moments in the Visayas leg that serves as a qualifying event in the Junior Masters tournament to be held at the end of the season. Arthur Craig Pantino ruled the Unisex-10 division while Zethley Mae Alferez topped the girls’ Under-12 class in the Cebu leg. Pantino won the same division when the tournament made its stop in Bohol where Lenelyn Milo and Jeleardo Amazona emerged as the top players. Amazona and Sally Mae boosted their ranking points for they year after topping the boys’ Under-14 and girls’ Under-16 divisions in Dumaguete. Sofia Dael (girls’ Under-14) and Peter Paul Valencia (Unisex-10) also grabbed the spotlight in Dumaguete. Paolo Baran and Karan Tadlan made their mark in Bacolod while Rogelio Estanio and Sara Jessica Adorador ruled their respective divisions in Iloilo City. The Tour shifts to Luzon with the Baguio City leg, which opened on May 18. The last stage will be held in Metro Manila from May 24 to 30. – JVP, GMANews.TV
