NBA superstar Kobe Bryant visits Pacquiao at training camp


National Basketball Association (NBA) superstar Kobe Bryant visited Philippine boxing icon and Sarangani Rep. Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao who was training at the Wild Card gym in California in the United States. Pacquiao is preparing for his upcoming Boxing Welterweight Championship bout for the WBO Welterweight World title against Mexican boxer Juan Manuel Márquez on November 12 (November 13 in Manila) at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada in the US. A report of radio dzBB on Friday said Bryant, a guard for the NBA's Los Angeles Lakers, visited Pacquiao and complimented the boxing champ for his hardworking attitude. A separate report of Digital Journal, said Bryant spent an hour at the Wild Card Gym with Pacquiao. The report said Bryant has been a long-time supporter of Pacquiao and visits his friend whenever he can while preparing for a major fight. Pacquiao is an eight-division world champion; having won six world titles. The Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) named him "Fighter of the Decade" for the 2000s. Pacquiao told to slow down Meanwhile, the dzBB report said Pacquiao's trainer Buboy Fernandez said they have advised the boxing champ to take it easy in his training lest he peak too early. "Ayaw natin masunog ," Fernandez explained. He said Pacquiao was very determined to win the fight against Marquez. Fernandez also said the training team has advised Pacquiao not to mind for now reported taunts suggesting a bout in May 2012 from Floyd Mayweather Jr. "Kako huwag siya magpadala.
