Rodolfo Labrador Jr. scored a game high 23 points, behind 18 hits and four blocks. The loss dropped UP to an even 6-6 slate that put the Fighting Maroons on a must-win situation in their last two games against Adamson and La Salle to at least earn a chance for a playoff for the last semis berth. Adamson (8-4) climbed to solo third after dealing Ateneo its 11th loss, 25-13, 25-17, 25-16. Ron Jay Galang paced the Falcons with 16 points, on 14 hits and a service ace. In women's volleyball action, Adamson fanned its bid of clinching a semis berth after posting a 25-11, 25-22, 27-25 decision over University of the East. The Lady Falcons clinched their eighth win in 13 matches to break loose from a tie for third with UST and FEU. — JVP, GMA News
