Ronjay Buenafe and Gester Ebuen carried the Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals to a 103-81 crushing of the National College of Business and Arts (NCBA) Wildcats. Their heroics enabled the Generals to stay in contention for a Final Four semifinals slot in the 14th Petron-National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) men's basketball tournament at the EAC Sports Center. Buenafe and Ebuen banged in 32 and 23 points, respectively, for the defending champion Generals, who came away with their fifth win in seven matches. This enabled the Generals to stay in fourth spot and keep their position behind the St. Francis Doves (7-2), the Asian College of Science and Technology (6-3) and the Arellano University Chiefs (6-1). "It's good to start the year on a winning note after our last game. We're back in fighting form with almost a complete lineup," said Generals coach Nomar Isla.
