UAAP: Baby Tam Jerie Pingoy commits to FEU seniors

[Updated - UAAP: Jerie Pingoy chooses Ateneo over FEU - report] (Updated 7:41am) Far Eastern University athletics director Mark Molina confirmed via Twitter that UAAP juniors standout Jerie Pingoy has signed an agreement to stay with FEU and play for their seniors team. FEU representative to the UAAP board and team manager Anton Montinola later confirmed Pingoy's commitment, telling GMA News Online, "Yes we have a written contract." Pingoy, who was named back-to-back MVP of the juniors division while playing for the FEU-Diliman Baby Tamaraws (formerly FEU-FERN), logged an average of 27.5 minutes in 17 outings, while putting up 21.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 2.3 steals, versus 3.4 turnovers. The Baby Tams claimed the Juniors title with a sweep over Season 74 titlists NU Bullpups, with game two going to an astounding three overtime periods. FEU, which finished the season outside of the Final Four after losing a playoff against the De La Salle University Green Archers, is set to lose just two players to graduation, big men Clarence Foronda and Mark Bringas. Pingoy will join a backcourt that already includes former MVP RR Garcia, should he opt to play his final season of eligibility, former Rookie of the Year Terrence Romeo, and reserves Cris Tolomia and Archie Inigo. Molina also said that two other Baby Tams, either Jose (10.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists) or Finals MVP Roger Domingo (6.6 points, 4.5 rebounds) and Joshua Aguilon (10.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists) have verbally committed to FEU. - AMD, GMA News
