UAAP: Ateneo stays spotless while DLSU, UST, Adamson cruise to wins in women's volleyball

Defending champions De La Salle University relied on total team effort as they defeated the University of the East, 25-15 25-14 25-13, on Sunday at FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Mika Reyes led DLSU with 11 points, as nine more Lady Spikers chipped in for the total tally.
Leuseht Dawis and Sarina Bulan had seven each to set the pace for UE.
In the other Sunday match, the Adamson Lady Falcons turned away Far Eastern University, also in straight sets, 25-18 25-18 25-14.
Sheila Pineda had 15 off 14 kills and a block, while team captain Pau Soriano had 12 points for Adamson.
Rosemarie Vargas led FEU with 10 points, but no other Lady Tamaraw scored in double figures.

On Saturday, The Ateneo de Manila women's volleyball team kept their record spotless, surviving a tough challenge put up by National University, 16-25 30-32 25-21 25-13 15-13, at The Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Eagles were down two sets to none, before taking the third and fourth. Tied at 13-all at the fifth set, Alyssa Valdez converted on a kill, as a Jorella De Jesus blocked completed the come-from-behind win for the Ateneo.
Valdez carried the Lady Eagles with 28 points, while Fille Cainglet added 14.
Myla Pablo had 21 for NU, while team captain Dindin Santiago chipped in 18.
In the other Saturday game, University of Santo Tomas Lady Tigresses just needed an hour to take care of the University of the Philippines, 25-18 25-11 25-14.
Maika Ortiz had 14 for UST, while veteran Maru Banaticla added 13.
UP struggled to find points, with Nicole Tiamzon and Princess Mae Legaspi tallying five each to lead the Maroons. - AMD, GMA News
