FTW: 'Exciting times ahead' for Ginebra with coach Alfrancis Chua

FTW panelists Mico Halili, Jason Webb, Magoo Marjon, Carlo Pamintuan, and Miakka Lim weighed in on the implications of coach Alfrancis Chua's appointment as the new head coach of the PBA's most popular ball club.

None of the panelists expressed surprise with Chua's appointment.

"Nakikita mo sa game e. With Ginebra, there was something strage with the arrangement that you felt kung magkamali si coach Siot [Tanquingcen], malaki ang possibility na papalitan siya ni coach Alfrancis [Chua]," said Pamintuan.

"You could see it coming. After they were eliminated early, we saw it coming," added Marjon.

"Let's face it: with the San Mig family, lately, they've had a penchant for pulling the trigger with their coaches pretty often. It's really a hot seat, be it sa Petron, be it sa Ginebra. San Mig [Coffee] has had some success so walang problema sa San Mig Coffee," Webb said.
"If they could work it out, it should be exciting times for Barangay Ginebra," said Marjon. "Even the players are looking forward. If you have the reigning MVP excited about this change, asking everyone to be ready."
Chua's appointment was not just expected, but also welcomed by no less than Ginebra star Mark Caguioa.

Marjon also referred to one of Caguioa's rare tweets, throwing support behind Ginebra's new coach.

It is Chua's first job back as head coach after spending four years with Sta. Lucia from 2003-2007. Prior to his stint with the Realtors, Chua was the head coach of the Tanduay Rhum Masters from 1999 to 2000. - RAF/OMG, GMA News
