Sanjo, Teng, Ebondo, Dela Cruz and Defensive Player Adeogun named to FilOil Mythical Five

The Filoil Flying V Hanes Premier Cup Mythical Team featured five players who found themselves playing on the tournament’s final day.

With the awarding ceremony taking place between the battle for third place and the finals, Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Arena, the Mythical Team saw two players from San Beda and one player each from De La Salle University, Central Escular University and Southwestern University, all of whom made it to the semifinals of the country’s premier preseason tournament.

Red Lions Ola Adeogun and Art Dela Cruz represented the NCAA champions San Beda College, who will face UAAP titlists De La Salle University, the latter team bannered by fellow Mythical Five member Jeron Teng in the finals of the preseason tournament.

Centro Escolar University was represented by Rodrigue Ebondo, who minutes before the Mythical Five presentation, helped his side beat Cebu’s Southwestern University Cobras, 73-58, in the tournament’s battle for third place match. SWU’s Landry Sanjo was awarded the fifth and final place in the All-Tournament team.

Adeogun was also recognized as the Defensive Player of the Tournament. - AMD, GMA News
