The De La Salle University Green Archers have once again opted not to field a full lineup, as the school is set to submit a 14-man roster for Season 77 of the UAAP.
Coach Juno Sauler said the defending champions will not fill the maximum allowed 16-player roster for the second straight year. The team only had 13 players in their squad, on its way to winning the school’s first UAAP men’s basketball title since 2007, last season.
Four rookies made it to the roster, bared Sauler, with point guard Terence Mustre, son of former PBA player Mike Mustre, swingman Julian Sargent, big man Abu Tratter, and high school standout Prince Rivero breaking into the Archers’ final lineup.
Star forward Jeron Teng leads the Archers holdovers, along with Arnold Van Opstal, Jason Perkins, Thomas Torres, Norbert Torres, Almond Vosotros, Matt Salem, Kib Montalbo, Gab Reyes, and Robert Bolick.
Yutien Andrada also made his return to the La Salle roster after suffering an ACL injury last year.
Noticeably absent from the lineup this year are veterans Jarelan Tampus and Luigi Dela Paz. - Reuben Terrado, SPIN
