Solis shows up, poses with Manny
Manny Pacquiaoâs foe Mexican boxer Jorge Solis has finally showed up after missing an earlier press conference due to visa problems, the Philboxing.com reported Friday. The supposed luncheon meeting of Pacquiao with opponent Solis at the Palm in Los Angeles in late March did not take place after Solis failed to secure a US visa. The report said Solis met the press at the Pound 4 Pound Gym in Los Angeles Thursday afternoon (early Friday morning Philippine time) and immediately went into a training session. According to the report, Pacquiao also turned up at the gym and met Solis face-to-face after the Mexican boxerâs training session. The two posed for pictures. A 12-round bout between Pacquiao and Solis is scheduled on April 14 at the Wild Card gym in San Antonio, Texas. Pacquiao will be defending his World Boxing Council International super featherweight title against the undefeated Mexican. Solis is touted to be a combination of Marco Antonio Barrera and Juan Manuel Marquez, which was why Top Rank chief Bob Arum picked the Mexican to fight Pacquiao. - GMANews.TV
