UAAP: 'Ako bahala' - Jeron Teng tells brother Jeric before 32-point explosion

"Ako bahala."

Jeron Teng had an ominous reply to older brother Jeric's good luck text earlier on Sunday, hours before his 32-point explosion that gave the De La Salle Green Archers an 88-86 win against rivals Ateneo Blue Eagles.

"I texted him earlier today. I told him to focus," said the older Teng. "He replied to me "Ako bahala." I was suprised he replied that way. Ganun pala."

Jeron did carry his team especially in the first quarter, accounting for 15 of La Salle's 19 points. He outscored Ateneo by five points.

"He was frustrated they lost to Ateneo the first round and he wanted to win this game badly," added Jeric.

Helping La Salle's cause was Teng's freethrow shooting as well. He converted on 17 freethrows of 20 tries, while getting six boards, five assists and a steal. - GMA News
