Solis tips scales at 130 pounds on 4th try; 'Blaze of Glory' on
After an hour of trying and three failed attempts earlier, Mexico's Jorge Solis finally made the 130-pound limit at the weigh-in with Philippine boxing icon Mannny Pacquiao in San Antonio, Texas, Saturday. The weigh-in over, the "Blaze of Glory" title bout between the two pugilisits was declared officially on. Solis had initially failed to make the weight. He first tipped the scales at 130.5 pounds, GMA 7's sports analyst Chino Trinidad reported from Texas. Solis stripped naked and took off his necklace, and then the scales flashed 130.25 pounds. After 30 minutes, he came back yet still tipped the scales at 130.12 pounds, Trinidad said. It was only on his third attempt at the scales that Solis made the weight. GMA Network and Solar Entertainment will air "Blaze of Glory" live on Sunday, 9 a.m., Manila Time. - GMANews.TV
