STARS • Allen Iverson, 76ers, had 40 points and 10 assists, keeping Philadelphia tied for eighth in the Eastern Conference with a 116-96 win over New Jersey. • Jermaine O'Neal, Pacers, had 21 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists as Indiana defeated Boston 117-112 to remain sixth in the East. • Carlos Boozer, Jazz, scored 25 points and pulled down 13 rebounds, leading Utah to a 104-83 victory over Denver. • Jameer Nelson, Magic, totaled 27 points, seven assists and three steals in Orlando's 11th straight home win, 103-96 over Toronto. PLAYOFF RACE Milwaukee snapped a four-game losing streak and handed Washington its fourth straight loss, 100-97 on Wednesday night. The Bucks are tied for sixth in the Eastern Conference, one game behind the Wizards. ... Utah won its fourth straight to move to .500 for the first time since Feb. 10, with a 104-83 win over Denver. STANDINGS Detroit (63-15) moved within one win or a San Antonio loss of clinching home court advantage throughout the playoffs with a 96-73 rout of Cleveland on Wednesday night. NEW HEIGHTS The Los Angeles Clippers (45-33) equaled their highest win total in 30 years with a 97-93 victory over Portland on Wednesday night. The team won 46 games while playing in Buffalo in 1975-76. Their 45-37 record in the 1991-92 season was their best record since the move to California. UPSET SPECIAL Golden State snapped a nine-game losing streak and ended Dallas' five-game winning streak with a 114-102 victory Wednesday night, the Warriors' third win over the Mavericks in four games this season. SNAPPED Minnesota ended a 14-game road losing streak with an 82-79 victory at Houston on Wednesday night. POINT TAKEN New Jersey's Vince Carter scored 21 points in a 116-96 loss to Philadelphia on Wednesday night, extending his club-record string of games with 20 or more points to 23 and tying his personal high set twice with Toronto. SLUMPING Toronto lost its 10th straight Wednesday night, 103-96 at Orlando. INJURED Cleveland star LeBron James left late in the third quarter against Detroit on Wednesday night with an injured left ankle and did not return. The Cavs said his status is day to day.
