WNCAA: Doves, Technocrats remain undefeated

The St. Francis of Assisi Lady Doves and Rizal Technological University Lady Technocrats maintained their immaculate slates in Group B of the38 th WNCAA senior basketball tournament. According to a league statement, May Catalla fired 16 points to power teh Doves past the La Consolacion Blue Royals, 58-47, for its third win Sunday at the St. Scholastica Gym. The victory likewise put the Doves as the solo leader in Group B. The Technocrats notched their second win for solo second with an 86-31 drubbing of San Beda Red Lionesses, which have yet to win after four starts. Cariza Joanna Valdez led teh Doves with 15 markers. In Group A, the World Citi Colleges Vikings barged into the win column after two defeats as they dealt the Centro Escolar University Scorpions a 67-57 loss. Leolyn Cortez topscored for the Viking with 14 points as they kept the Scorpions in the cellar with a 0-3 card. The Emilio Aguinaldo College Generals also tasted their first win after two unsuccessful tries in Group B, downing erstwhile unbeaten Philippine Women's University, 64-54. Cherry Ann Velayo scored 25 points for the Generals, including seven triples, as the team rose to 1-2 while PWU and the Blue Royals are tied for third and fourth places at 2-1. - GMANews.TV
