HBO series 'Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty' to air on March 7


Los Angeles Lakers fans have something to look forward to, apart from the upcoming NBA games.

HBO will soon release a series about one of the most famous teams in the league. "Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty" will tackle the story of the 1980s Lakers team which saw Jerry Buss' acquisition of the team, the era of Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and the formation of the Lakers dynasty.

The 10-episode series is based on the book “Showtime: Magic, Kareem, Riley and the Los Angeles Lakers Dynasty of the 1980s” by Jeff Pearlman.

The cast includes John C. Reilly as Jerry Buss, Quincy Isaiah as Magic Johnson, Jason Clarke as Jerry West, Adrien Brody as Pat Riley, Hadley Robinson as Jeanie Buss, and Solomon Hughes as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, among others.

The series will premiere on March 7 at 10 a.m. on HBO and can be streamed at HBO Go. The following episodes will air Mondays at 9 a.m. — LA, GMA News
