Erik Spoelstra, Alex Eala meet in Miami

Two outstanding Filipinos in sports met on Thursday (Manila time) in Miami, Florida in the United States.

The Miami Heat Twitter account posted a photo and video of head coach Erik Spoelstra's interaction with US Open girls singles champion Alex Eala.

"Two of the Philippines' finest," the Heat wrote in the caption.

Spoelstra and his Heat squad won over the New York Knicks, 127-120, on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Eala recently competed in the Miami Open where she made an exit in the first round.

The Miami Heat coach has a Filipino mom, while Eala is a homegrown talent who also won doubles titles in the girls tournament of the Australian Open (2020) and the French Open (2021).
