PBA fines Wesley Wilson, Adam Parada for court fracas

MANILA, Philippines - Wesley Wilson of Sta. Lucia and Adam Parada of Red Bull escaped suspension but were fined by the commissioner's office of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) for being involved in a fracas during their teams' game on Wednesday. Wilson was fined P65,000 – P60,000 for a fighting foul and P5,000 for a flagrant foul – and Parada was fined P20,000, according to a PBA statement released on Thursday. PBA commissioner Renauld Barrios said the decision was made at hearing at the PBA headquarters in Libis, Quezon City. Wilson was given a heavier fine because he elbowed Parada during a commotion near the end of the game, which the Barakos won, 105-78. The commotion started when Wilson bumped Jojo Duncil, who fell on the floor. Parada, who was just behind the Sta. Lucia import, pushed Wilson. And Wilson answered back with an elbow. Barrios explained that Wilson was not suspended for the following reasons: • He allowed himself to be easily pacified and peacefully stood in the sidelines without needing to be restrained further. • He immediately left the court when game officials ejected him. • He didn't hit Parada with a closed fist and didn't injure the Red Bull import. - GMANews.TV
