The Philippines' Global FC went toe-to-toe with DPMM Brunei, eking out a 4-4 draw in the second leg of their Singapore Cup quarterfinals match-up, to advance to the semifinal round, 5-4 on aggregate, Saturday at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

Carli de Murga struck thrice in the first half (20', 37', 45',) to put the UFL side ahead of DPMM, before feeding a cross to first-leg hero Rufo Sanchez in the 50th minute, for a commanding 4-0 tally.

DPMM however almost forced extra time with four goals, equalizing the second-leg score at 4-4. However, thanks to Sanchez's first-leg goal, Global had enough to progress to the next round.

The other UFL side in the competition, the Loyola Meralco Sparks, will face Tanjong Pagar on Sunday, after falling behind 1-2 in the first leg. - Roehl Niño Bautista / RAF, GMA News
