Ceres La Salle pummels Forza, 10-0
United Football League titleholders Ceres La Salle FC bucked a slow start to scorch the depleted Forza FC, 10-0, and clip their fourth straight victory in this year’s tournament.
High-scoring Spanish striker Adrian Gallardo Valdes once again headlined for the Bacolod powerhouse club with another impressive offensive output.
Gallardo Valdes tallied three goals for Ceres opened by a goal in the 37th minute followed by two more goals in the second half.
On the other hand, the nine-man roster of Forza stood firm against their tall opposition in the first few minutes of the match as goalkeeper Abu Ibrahim asserted his presence between the posts to swat Ceres’ attempts.
However, the Busmen managed to break the scoreless deadlock of the contest in the 23rd courtesy of a goal by Manny Ott from deep inside the box.
Bienvenido Maranon, Stephan Schrock, Patrick Reichelt, Jeffrey Christiaens, Nate Burkey and Carli De Murga all stepped up with a goal each in the triumph of Ceres over the lower ranked Forza.
Ceres La Salle are now seated in the second spot of the league standings with four wins, a loss and a plus 40 goal difference while Forza are at the 11th spot with just a draw and four losses. — APG, GMA News
