Kaya FC falls prey as defending champs Ulsan Hyundai sets new win streak record

Kaya FC-Iloilo faced a dominant side on a historic win streak and fell short, 3-0, as defending AFC Champions League champion Ulsan Hyundai set a new record for consecutive games won in the prestigious Asian club tournament.

With the win, South Korean side Ulsan made it 12 straight wins dating back to their title-winning campaign last season, eclipsing the previous record of 11 consecutive wins set by their predecessors, a 2011 champion team from the same Ulsan club.

Kaya, meanwhile, suffered a third straight setback in a tough Group F that includes champion teams from Thailand and Vietnam.

Ulsan’s Oh Se-hun scored two goals in the first half, the first at the 12th minute of the contest and another at the 40th. His teammate Valei Qazaishvili added another early in the second half to make it 3-0.

The two teams will face off again in a rematch on Monday.
