Filipinas fall to Thailand, finish second in Group A

The Philippine national women's football team fell short against Thailand, 1-0, in the 2022 AFF Women's Championship at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.

Thailand scored the match's only goal at the 75th minute from Kanyanat Chetthabutr, dealing the Philippines its first and only loss in the group stage.

Sarina Bolden, who led the Filipinas in the match against Indonesia on Sunday, only entered the game with around ten minutes left before stoppage time.

With the loss, the Philippines finished second in Group A while the Thais took the top spot.

The Philippines, assured of a semis spot, will face the top team of Group B, which will either be Vietnam or Myanmar. The semis will be played on Friday.
