Sara Eggesvik vows Filipinas will 'keep fighting' in crucial match against Norway in FIFA Women's World Cup

She may have previously represented Norway in her young career, but Sara Eggesvik assured she, along with the Philippine women's national football team, will give their all when they play her previous federation on Sunday in a crucial match in the FIFA Women's World Cup.

Eggesvik represented Norway during her U-19 and U-23 stints in 2016 and 2018 before she was called up by the Philippines in 2022.

After their win against New Zealand on July 25, Eggesvik said the Filipinas, which she also described as 'special,' showed they could compete against top teams in the World Cup.

"We will not take anything for granted. We keep fighting," Eggesvik told GMA Integrated News.

She added that while she is grateful for the win they got against New Zealand, their eyes will be set on Sunday's match.

"We have to think about that game and prepare ourselves for that game," she added.

A win of the Filipinas against Norway will assure the country a slot in the knockout stage of the tournament.
