2026 Asian Games: Who are the Philippine athletes competing in Aichi-Nagoya?
The Philippines’ campaign in the 2026 Asian Games has commenced, with Gilas Pilipinas opening its title defense bid on Friday.
More than 400 athletes will comprise the Philippine delegation for the Aichi-Nagoya Games, with the country hoping to surpass the four gold medals it won in the previous edition in 2023.

Here are the athletes competing for the Philippines, according to the list provided by the Philippine Sports Commission.
Who are the potential gold medal winners?
The Philippine Olympic Committee on Monday listed several athletes and teams as potential gold medal winners for this year’s Asian Games.
These include:
- Alex Eala (tennis)
- Carlos Yulo (gymnastics)
- EJ Obiena (pole vault)
- Annie Ramirez (jiu-jitsu)
- Kayla Sanchez (swimming)
- Albert Ian delos Santos (weightlifting)
Also contending for medals are Gilas Pilipinas, Olympic boxers Nesthy Petecio, Carlo Paalam, and Aira Villegas, as well as athletes from other sports such as Agatha Wong and Jones Inso (wushu).
The Philippines will also look to its golfers, including Bianca Pagdanganan, Pauline del Rosario, Miguel Tabuena, Justin delos Santos, and Rianne Malixi, for medal finishes.
