Elite runners Muge, Magtubo rule 10 Miler Makati leg

Elite runners Gilbert Muge of Kenya and Edna Magtubo of the Philippines ruled the Makati leg of the 10 Miler Series held Sunday at the Ayala Triangle Gardens.
Muge clocked 53:51 to rule the men’s 16K, followed by Ritchie Estampador in 54:21 and Jay Fernandez in 1:00:03.
Magtubo, meanwhile, topped the women’s 16K with a time of 1:04:32, followed by Purity Serem in 1:06:43 and Meljoy Gonzales in 1:10:37.
Fritz Operio (33:39) and Mary Rose Frias (41:33) ruled their respective divisions in the 10K race, while Michael James Jongoy (16:37) and Melody Lantad (22:50) were the top finishers in the 5K divisions.
The final leg of the Rexona 10 Miler Series will be held in November in Iloilo.
