Carlo Paalam has punched his way to the gold medal round after beating world champion Makhmud Sabyrkhan of Kazakhstan in the 2026 Asian Games men's 55kg semifinals on Wednesday.

Eala vs Garland schedule
Alex Eala will square off against Joanna Garland, the highest-ranked player of Chinese Taipei, in the women's singles quarterfinals of the 2026 Asian Games tennis competition.
The game is scheduled to follow men's singles third round match between Japan's Hayato Matsuoka and Chinese Taipei's Hsu Yu-hsiou on Center Court.
That match is ongoing with Hsu currently leading, 6-2, 4-3, in the second set.

Later in the day, Eala will team up with Shaira Rivera to take on China’s Jiang Xinyu and Yang Zhaoxuan in the second round of the doubles tournament.
