Alexandria Enriquez claims silver in Asian Games jiu jitsu

Jiu-jitsu’s Alexandria Enriquez bagged the Philippines’ ninth silver medal in the 2026 Asian Games on Saturday in Japan.

Enriquez fell short against Thailand’s Orapa Senatham in the women’s 63kg final, with the latter winning via advantages.

Prior to that, Enriquez defeated Palestine’s Dania Obaid in the Round of 16, Kazakhstan’s Marian Zhuravleva in the quarterfinals, and Mongolia’s Narankhishig Baasanjargal in the semifinals, all via submission.

Earlier, Andrea Lao lost to Mongolia’s Narankhishig Baasanjargal in the bronze medal match.

The Philippines now has four gold medals, nine silver medals, and 16 bronze medals.
