8 wildcard spots at stake in 'Pacman' 10-Ball Cup


Eight wildcards spots will be disputed in the Pacman International 10-Ball Cup on Friday at the Star Billiards Center in Quezon City. Tournament director Edgar Acaba said the wildcard berths will allow local players to get a chance of earning a spot in the main draw. The tournament is expected to attract some of the world’s best players that hope to get a share of the $60,000 prize fund put up by eight-division world boxing champion and new pool patron Manny Pacquiao. Acaba, the Billiards and Snooker Congress of the Philippines; (BSCP) secretary-general, said there will be two winners each day in the four-day tournament. Players who failed to qualify the previous day will have a chance to compete the following day. The main draw of the Pacman International 10-Ball Cup begins on December 13. Tournament fee is P500. Registration ends at 7 p.m. Friday while game time starts 30 minutes after registration closes. The tournament will employ a race-to-nine knockout system under World Poll Association (WPA) rules.
