Escueta, Cudiamat to lead badminton hopefuls in invitational tournament

National team mainstays Joper Escueta and Kevin Cudiamat are expected to lead the more than 1,000 players all over the country that will compete in the 2012 Prima Pasta Invitational Badminton Open. The four-day tournament—February 25 to 26 and March 3 to 4—will be held at the PowerSmash Badminton Court in Pasong Tamo, Makati City. "I'm expecting the competition to be tougher this year because of the rising badminton players," said event chairman Alex S. Lim, who also expects other big names like Malvinne Alcala and Paul Vivas to join the Open events.
