Abdulqoahar dominates Koronadal leg of junior tennis tilt

Allian Abdulqoahar proved that he is one of Mindanao's rising tennis stars after dominating the second leg of the HEAD 2012 junior national Tennis Age-Group Satellite Circuit in Koronadal City, South Cotabato. Abdulqoahar, showing his tremendous forehand attacks, outplayed Mikko Ringia in title match of the boys' U18 division, 10-7. He also faced Ringia in the U16 finals with the 15-year-old completing his title sweep with a 10-5 decision. "I need to get back and win here (in Koronadal) after I came out empty-handed in the first leg (Davao)," said the Zamboanga City native Abdulqoahar. "Mikko (Ringia) was tough, so I need to be consistent on my attacks and serves."   Abdulqoahar's twin victories earned him ranking points in the prestigious junior satellite tournament. In the girls' division, top seed Nikkirey Arandia ruled the U18 age group after a 10-8 win over Percian Eve Rivera in the finals, while top seed Jzash Canja captured the U16 trophy with a 10-8 triumph over Percian Eve Rivera in the finals. Second seed Jaffary Cariaga scored a 10-7 win over Jeric Delos Santos in the boys' U14 division while top seed Sharyl Delos Santos defeated Alliah Raguntol, 10-3, for the girls' U14 diadem.
