Golf: Greg Norman to design another course in the Philippines

Golf legend Greg Norman is in the country to launch the development of the Greg Norman Signature Golf Course at the Dakak Park and Beach Resort in Dapitan, Zamboanga Del Norte. The two-time British Open winner arrived in Manila on Sunday. The following day, he proceeded to visit the 120-hectare site. Promising to present a backdrop of the ocean from every angle, the 18-hole golf course is set to be completed within 12 to 18 months. After the initial ocular inspection, Norman will return three more times to supervise the development of the project. "It's been a great journey for us in terms of designing golf courses. Every golf course we design we try to make it different. It has to do with the environment and the topography," said Norman, who has been in the Philippines before to design the Splendido Taal Golf Course in 2002. The new golf course in Dakak joins 18 other Greg Norman Courses currently in progress. Seventy four courses already exist worldwide, with 20 more under planning. - Renee Fopalan / AMD, GMA News
